Never let the future disturb you. You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present.
– Marcus Aurelius
If you were not born yesterday, you have already been in a pickle, gone around the block once or twice, been bullied by someone, gotten in to trouble, made a bad call, trusted the wrong people, smoked from the wrong pipe or had to apologise for your stupidity.
Whatever it was, you made it through, you live and breath and are well enough to waste time reading blogs in the Internet! You’re ok.
How did you do it?
Using your wits and tact, you found a way to escape with a narrow margin, came up with something in the last minute or fast-talked yourself out of the predicament. The cop believed you, the teacher decided to let it slide this time, the customer cancelled the complaint and your boss did not fire you.
Or perhaps you did not win that fight but you then found your peace with what is, or even turned that bitter experience to a powerful lesson that you will never forget.
What ever it was, now you’re here and all is well.
You used your weapons of reason. You did your magic or you shifted the perspective and accepted what had to be accepted, then moved on.
When the next trouble comes along, you will do that again. The same weapons of reason are still with you and you are now even stronger and wiser.
Trust your weapons.
